The two-day South Burnett Gem Show – due to be held at the Wondai Sportsground this weekend – has been postponed due to the weather.<\/p>\n

“After careful consideration of the current weather that we are having, and a close inspection of the Wondai Sportsground, the Gem Show committee has made the decision to postpone our Gem Show that was to be held on April 5-6,” South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club secretary Karen Mead said.<\/p>\n

“As you can imagine, the decision has not been made lightly, especially considering the amount of time, effort, resources and costs already expended in staging our show. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“Although the weather forecast is for a fine weekend, the entrance to the sportsground is quickly becoming very boggy, and we do not wish to damage the grassed areas in the grounds.<\/p>\n

“The committee will be meeting soon to determine another date later in the year that we can put this event on.”<\/p>\n

This would have been the fourth year the very popular event would have been held at the Wondai Sportsground.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
