The 2025 Goomeri Show was sizzling on Saturday, and we’re not just talking about the weather!<\/p>\n

“It was probably one of the best shows we’ve had for a long time,” Show Society president David Pitstock told southburnett.com.au<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“There was a good amount of people and the Pavilion was chock-a-block full which we haven’t had for a few years now.”<\/p>\n

David said the number of horse entries was up and the cattle and dog sections were also good.<\/p>\n

A new and popular section this year was the Truck Show, held in memory of local diesel mechanic Owen Alford who died in a traffic crash in October last year.<\/p>\n

The show was officially opened by Member for Nanango, Attorney-General Deb Frecklington.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local Gympie councillor Warren McEwan presented Life Membership pins to show stalwarts David and Archie Pointon during the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

David said Saturday evening finished with the Farmer’s Challenge, which was popular with the children, and then fireworks.<\/p>\n

A special guest at the show this year was ABC-TV Muster Dogs winners Frank Finger and “Annie”, from Clermont.<\/p>\n

Frank and his beloved kelpie, sponsored by Nedloh Rural, chatted with visitors but also put on a show for the crowd during the afternoon.<\/p>\n
