Cherbourg Council has adopted a “rotational” system for its Deputy Mayor role, similar to the one implemented by the South Burnett Regional Council at the start of this latest term.<\/p>\n

Cherbourg Mayor Bruce Simpson said Cr Gordon Wragge had now taken on the role, replacing Cr Carla Fisher who was appointed at the start of the term.<\/p>\n

“As part of our commitment to inclusive and progressive governance, the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council has implemented a rotational system for the Deputy Mayor position,” Mayor Simpson said.<\/p>\n

“This initiative ensures that each councillor has the opportunity to contribute to our community’s leadership, fostering diverse perspectives and shared responsibility.\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Over the past year, Cr Carla FIsher has served diligently as Deputy Mayor, bringing valuable insights and dedication to the role.<\/p>\n

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for her service.\u200b<\/p>\n

“We are now pleased to announce that Councillor Gordy Wragge has stepped into the position of Deputy Mayor for his term.<\/p>\n
