If you live in the South Burnett and were wondering where all the small planes were coming from over the weekend, here’s the answer:<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the monthly fly-in put on by the Burnett Flyers at Murgon’s Angelfield airstrip attracted close to thirty planes and over sixty hungry patrons eager for a piping hot breakfast.<\/p>\n

It was a very busy time for club members. who did the cooking and offered a friendly country atmosphere to visitors who came from all over south east Queensland for the event.<\/p>\n

Some flyers even came in on Friday to camp under wings of their aircraft and join club members in a friendly campfire barbecue the night before.<\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, flying was the hot topic of conversation and a lively comradeship quickly sprang up between the visitors and Burnett Flyers members.<\/p>\n

Several frequent visitors are commercial airline pilots who fly small aircraft for fun, and visitor numbers are expected to increase over coming months as the weather improves.<\/p>\n

Many of the visitors commented positively on the newly-remodeled Operations Centre, which was designed “by flyers for flyers” and gives a great view of operations at the strip.<\/p>\n

The club plans on offering real-time weather reporting to the public on the Internet when funding becomes available.<\/p>\n

A special highlight of the weekend’s event was when the club was given a flying aircraft for its members to use.<\/p>\n
