Toowoomba Regional Council says a 12-month program to repair flood-damaged Pierces Creek Road is almost finished.<\/p>\n

The key link road road, which connects Crows Nest to Mt Binga on the route to Blackbutt, suffered major damage during the 2022 floods.<\/p>\n

Cr Carol Taylor said Council appreciated the understanding of residents and motorists while construction works were undertaken at many locations along the key route.<\/p>\n

She said there had been\u00a0three significant culvert upgrades, five concrete pipe replacements and many pavement reconstruction patches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWith these works now complete, Pierces Creek Road and the surrounding road network have been significantly improved,\u201d Cr Taylor said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo of these essential culvert upgrades involved widening the roadway from a single lane to double-lane waterway crossings, greatly improving traffic flow and reducing risks for motorists.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe works are expected to be completed in April, weather and site conditions permitting and will provide a safer and more resilient road network between Crows Nest and Blackbutt, a road frequently used by locals and visitors,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
