Ringsfield House was the place to be in Nanango on Saturday morning, with the grounds buzzing with crowds.<\/p>\n

The annual “Back To Nanango” weekend – hosted this year by the Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA) – attracted a lot of returning former residents as well as Nanango locals to the historic precinct.<\/p>\n

About 70 people had already signed the reunion register by 10:00am!<\/p>\n

But the reunion also coincided with the latest outing of the Nanango Homemade Markets, which filled Ringsfield’s gardens with colourful stalls.<\/p>\n

There was also an opportunity to view videos from the Nanango Living History Project in the old Presbyterian Church in the grounds.<\/p>\n

These interviews were being displayed on the big screen by Charlie Spagalli who has been working for several years on the massive project to record the stories and memories of Nanango residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project has been sponsored by Heritage Nanango Community Branch and Nanango Real Estate, and some of the already edited videos can be seen on Facebook<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over in the former Nanango State School building – now the Nanango History Room – visitors were browsing displays of old photographs and documents, as well as being shown the collection of books and newspapers stored on site.<\/p>\n

Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy buggy rides around Nanango streets, tour the historic Ringsfield House or simply relax under the shade sails in the garden and enjoy morning tea prepared by QCWA volunteers.<\/p>\n
