A State Government committee inquiring into elder abuse will be visiting the South Burnett to hold one of a series of public hearings.<\/p>\n

Attorney-General and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the Education, Arts and Communities Committee was exploring the nature and extent of elder abuse, assessing how effectively current systems support older Queenslanders, and identify opportunities to strengthen responses across the State.<\/p>\n

A public meeting has been scheduled to be held in Cherbourg on March 26.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This inquiry is an important step in ensuring that older members of our community are treated with dignity, respect, and the protection they deserve,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI strongly encourage anyone with lived experience to consider making a submission to this important inquiry; your insights are invaluable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Members of the public are also welcome to attend the hearings, with registrations preferred.<\/p>\n

Registrations can be made online for the Cherbourg hearing<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Written submissions can also be made online<\/a> <\/strong>before April 10, 2025.<\/p>\n
