A police dive team has scoured the Kinbombi Falls area near Goomeri as part of the ongoing search for missing person Jack McLennan.<\/p>\n

The search, carried out earlier this week, follows repeated assertions on social media that the Kinbombi area was somehow linked to Jack’s disappearance.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old was last seen between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on October 4 last year, travelling on foot in the Ficks Crossing area.<\/p>\n

Since then, items of Jack\u2019s clothing and a wallet have been found by searchers in the Ficks Crossing and Murgon areas.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said on Friday that dive squad officers had searched the Kinbombi Falls area but nothing of interest had been discovered.<\/p>\n

“Feedback from divers at the end of the search indicated visibility was good and Jack was not located,” the spokesperson said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The spokesperson said police had conducted extensive searches for Jack in accordance with best practice State search guidelines.<\/p>\n

“To date those searches have included significant resources from the Queensland Police Service, SES and members of the public,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Police continue to encourage any members of the community to report information that may assist in the location of Jack to CrimeStoppers on 1800-333-000.<\/p>\n

“Police will continue to investigate any new potential lines of inquiry relating to this matter and any further updates will be provided to the family as a matter of priority.<\/p>\n

“There is a dedicated family liaison officer appointed to Jack\u2019s next of kin and continual regular updates are provided to them, specifically Jack\u2019s mother.”<\/p>\n
