The South Burnett Boars will be looking for revenge this weekend in their Goodchild Shield Grand Final clash against Bundaberg.<\/p>\n

The rivals have been swapping the prestigious representative trophy between each other for the past few years with Bundaberg victorious in 2022,\u00a0 South Burnett in 2023 and Bundaberg in 2024.<\/p>\n

If form is any guide, South Burnett should be favourites this year, finishing unbeaten in the four-team competition.<\/p>\n

The Goodchild Shield final will be played on Sunday at Murgon Showgrounds, with play due to start at 9:00am.<\/p>\n

It will also be a big weekend for the Kumbia Rattlers cricket club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Rattlers juniors and the Kumbia Sport and Recreation Association will be hosting a pink stumps fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation from 8:00am to noon at the Kumbia Sportsground.<\/p>\n

Cupcakes and lollies will be available for sale and spectators are encouraged to dress in pink!<\/p>\n

Jake Sippel finished Day 1 with 1\/33 off nine overs for Murgon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ladder leaders Murgon Crusaders and Wooroolin Warriors battled it out at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy last Saturday during Day 1 of the last round of the Gympie A Grade Two-Day Competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon won the toss and elected to bowl.<\/p>\n

At stumps on Day 1, Warriors were all out for 174 with Murgon 1\/75.<\/p>\n

Luke Smith was the top scorer for Warriors, hitting five boundaries on his way to 51 runs.<\/p>\n

Matthew Dugdell was next best with 44 runs off just 28 balls, including four sixes.<\/p>\n

Jack Webber (3\/24 off nine overs) and Tom Carney (4\/39 off 14.2) were the pick of the Murgon bowlers.<\/p>\n

Crusaders lost only the wicket of Riley Sippel by stumps, trapped LBW by Matthew Springate for 18.<\/p>\n

Daniel Thompson (31) and Nathan Roderick (24) were not out.<\/p>\n

Day 2 will be played at the same venue this weekend.<\/p>\n

Wooroolin captain Kieran Askin was uncharacteristically bowled out for a duck<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

  • Tingoora Vikings (5\/256) def. Tingoora Huntsmen (112 all out) by 144 runs at Tingoora Sportsground.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    It was a special day for the Tingoora cricket club which celebrated its Ladies Day with a hometown derby and a visit from South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff.<\/p>\n

    Vikings won the toss and elected to bat.<\/p>\n

    Opener Scott Butters top-scored with 52 runs, with Joshua Unverzagt (retired on 50) and Tavis Hartwig (50 not out) not far behind.<\/p>\n

    Nate Osborne finished with the best bowling figures for Huntsmen: 1\/10 off three overs.<\/p>\n

    In reply, Huntsmen were all out after 35 overs.<\/p>\n

    Brett Rankin top-scored with 21 runs while Ryan Jacobs took 4\/23 off five overs.<\/p>\n

    With only two rounds of the regular season to go, Vikings are still leading the competition.<\/p>\n

    • Nanango Scorpions (188 all out) def. Wooroolin Warriors (149 all out) by 39 runs at Kingaroy State School<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl, getting Scorpions all out in the 38th over.<\/p>\n

      Dan O’Connor top-scored for Nanango with 66 runs.<\/p>\n

      John-Paul Schultz was deadly for Wooroolin, taking 2\/9 off five overs plus a catch and helping with a runout.<\/p>\n

      In reply, Warriors were all out in the 37th over.<\/p>\n

      James Searle was the top scorer with 31 runs.<\/p>\n

      Nanango bowlers shared the honours: Ben Greenslade (2\/23 off seven), Nicholas Scherger (2\/25 off six) and Jayden Prendergast (2\/31 off eight).<\/p>\n

      • Wondai Wolves (184 all out) def. Murgon Diggers (111 all out) by 73 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Wondai won the toss and elected to bat.<\/p>\n

        Lyndon Hopkins (57) and Reg Wenham (38) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

        Levi Steinhardt (2\/20 off four) finished with the best bowling figures for Diggers.<\/p>\n

        In reply, Murgon Diggers were all out in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

        Renee Irvine (23) was the top scorer.<\/p>\n

        Nathan Nixon too 5\/22 off six overs.<\/p>\n
