Kingaroy’s Woolworths store has expanded its low-sensory Quiet Hour to five days a week.<\/p>\n

The Quiet Hour aims to reduce anxiety and sensory stress for customers who have specific needs.<\/p>\n

It will now run every Monday to Friday between 10:30am and 11:30am.<\/p>\n

Quiet hour was developed in consultation with disability service provider Life Without Barriers and was originally launched in 2019 for just one day a week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to receive positive feedback from customers on the initiative,” Woolworths spokesperson Jeanette Fenske said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expansion of Quiet Hour to five days a week has been trialled over busy shopping periods and we are proud to now be able to meet customer needs with this five days a week.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Quiet Hour, temporary changes include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Turning off bakery ovens or chicken cooker buzzers<\/li>\n
  • Reducing volume on store phones and registers on the trading floor<\/li>\n
  • Clearing store entry ways<\/li>\n
  • Reducing lighting and in-store music<\/li>\n
  • Removing roll cages from the shop floor and;<\/li>\n
