February 5, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett residents have been invited to attend the “official” opening of the new youth area in Kingaroy’s Memorial Park this Saturday (February 8).<\/p>\n

The Youth Precinct opening will begin at 3:00pm with Kingaroy Basketball Association running 3×3 basketball competitions with prizes for the winners.<\/p>\n

At 5:00pm local MP, Attorney-General Deb Frecklington, South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff and councillors and Council staff, local contractors and stakeholders will be on hand for the official opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Rotary will have a barbecue and an ice cream van will also be there.<\/p>\n

Council has acknowledged the Department of Sports, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games which funded the project alongside the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n

NB. The event which happened in December – before the flash flooding occurred – was a “soft” opening to inform residents that the facility was ready to be used.<\/em><\/p>\n
