January 31, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wooroolin Warriors were too strong for Murgon Crusaders in the Grand Final of the Gympie A Grade One-Day cricket competition played on Saturday in Gympie.<\/p>\n

Murgon won the toss and elected to bowl.<\/p>\n

At the end of their 40 overs, Wooroolin were 7\/175 with opener Jackson Kerkow top-scoring with 37 runs.<\/p>\n

Jake Sippel was the pic of the Murgon bowlers, finishing with 3\/36 off eight overs.<\/p>\n

In reply, Murgon were all out for 154 in the 38th over.<\/p>\n

Brent Polzin (41) and Tom Patten (34) were the top scorers.<\/p>\n

Fletcher Brown took 3\/14 off 6.2 overs.<\/p>\n

The Gympie A Grade Two-Day competition will resume this weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was also a good day for Wooroolin Warriors’ B Grade team which defeated Tingoora Huntsmen by seven wickets at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Huntsmen won the toss and elected to bat but were all out for 77 in the 35th over.<\/p>\n

Nate Osborne top-scored with 20 runs.<\/p>\n

John McDonald was Warriors’ best bowler, taking two wickets for just four runs off five overs.<\/p>\n

In reply,\u00a0 Warriors overtook the target after 18 overs for the loss of three wickets (3\/78).<\/p>\n

McDonald again was the best, this time hitting 25 runs off 22 balls.<\/p>\n

Brett Rankin finished 1\/9 off five overs for Huntsmen.<\/p>\n

Tingoora Vikings (9\/123) def. Nanango Scorpions (122 all out) by one wicket at Tingoora Sportsground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scorpions were all out in the 29th over, with Lachlan Cullen top-scoring with 39 runs.<\/p>\n

Ryan Jacobs finished with 3\/43 off his eight overs and Grant Spring 2\/17 off six.<\/p>\n

In reply, Vikings had plenty off overs in hand but were running out of batters when they made the necessary runs in the 22nd over.<\/p>\n

Jacobs top-scored with 63 runs while Cullen took 5\/22 off 6.2 overs.<\/p>\n

Wondai Wolves (223 all out) def. Kingaroy Services (126 all out) by 97 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wondai won the toss and elected to bat and were all out in the 37th over.<\/p>\n

Reg Wenham top-scored with 65.<\/p>\n

Isaac Bice took 4\/36 off 7.2 overs.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Services were all out in the 30th over.<\/p>\n

Joe Campbell (29) was the top scorer.<\/p>\n

Gene Barrett (5\/27 off seven overs) was best with the ball for Wondai.<\/p>\n
