LifeFlight’s helicopter crews – operating from bases on the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Bundaberg, Mt Isa, Roma and Brisbane – clocked up 3534 missions during the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

Statistics released this week show the number of missions was up 24 per cent over 2023 while flight hours also rose by 20 per cent to 5551.<\/p>\n

LifeFlight helped a record 8477 people, up 13 per cent on 2023, including more than 800 patients injured in motor vehicle crashes.<\/p>\n

The Toowoomba-based helicopters were the busiest, flying 936 missions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

LifeFlight Chief\u202fOperating Officer Lee Schofield, said it was a momentous year as the not-for-profit marked 45 years in operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueensland\u2019s strong population growth combined with our expanded capabilities mean we are called on more to help Queenslanders whenever and wherever we are needed,\u201d Mr Schofield said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year\u2019s record follows on from another record year in 2023.”<\/p>\n
