Police are investigating after two vehicles – believed to be stolen – were torched in Kingaroy during the early hours of New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said emergency services responded to fires in Haly Street about 2:30am.<\/p>\n

“At this stage, they are being treated as suspicious,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Investigations are ongoing. There is no further information at this time.<\/p>\n

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, including anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to please come forward.”<\/b><\/p>\n

Social media posts have linked the incidents to an alleged carjacking earlier in the evening in Murgon and a robbery and thefts by a group of youths at the United Fuel service station in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango, Attorney-General Deb Frecklington, has urged residents to report criminal activity to police.<\/p>\n

“Social media is not the appropriate platform for reporting crime,” she said.<\/p>\n

A Kingaroy police spokesperson urged anyone with information to call PoliceLink on 131-444.<\/p>\n
