More than 200 competitors took part in last month’s three-day Nanango Campdraft, the first draft held at Nanango Showgrounds for three years.<\/p>\n

Competitors made 1000 first round runs over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Heritage Bank Nanango was the major sponsor, funding the three-round Open draft which had 200 first-round runs.<\/p>\n

The first runs were followed by the knockout rounds of a second round and final.<\/p>\n

“Our Open campdraft was valued at $5000 and the Nanango Campdraft Committee would not have been able to offer this amount of prize money without Heritage Bank Nanango\u2019s funding,” campdraft secretary Robyn Sawtell said.<\/p>\n

“This year saw the introduction of a Maiden 4 Maiden run in conjunction with the Maiden, with a separate final.<\/p>\n

“Twenty-four Maiden horse and Maiden rider combinations advanced to the final, with riders competing in a final under lights on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This event created great entertainment for fellow competitors and locals to watch on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

“The campdraft committee we would like to acknowledge Heritage Bank Nanango for previous funding granted to aid in the lighting of the Nanango Showgrounds centre ring.<\/p>\n

“This was a drawcard event as very few campdraft grounds can run a night program under lights.<\/p>\n

“The committee is grateful for the support received from Heritage Bank Nanango, competitors, cattle donors, judges, and all other sponsors which all contributed to this being such a successful weekend.”<\/p>\n
