The speed limit on Mount Wooroolin Road in Kingaroy has been cut from 100km\/h to 60km\/h after a review.<\/p>\n

The new limit applies to the section of the road from Haly Street to the intersection with the Mount Wooroolin Access Road (see map, below)<\/p>\n

A\u00a0South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said new signs were expected to be erected during next week, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

“In undertaking a review of the road and road environment it was deemed that Mount Wooroolin Road has a significant proportion of recreational traffic with walkers and cyclists accessing the Mount Wooroolin Reserve,” the spokesperson said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The following factors were also considered; the connecting road, Haly Street, already has a posted speed of 60km\/h; the road has a single-lane seal; and the roadside environment is likely to support a local wildlife population.<\/p>\n

“The review was undertaken in liaison with representatives from our local emergency services. As a result of this review the decision was made to reduce the speed limit to help protect our more vulnerable road users.<\/p>\n

“Please drive to the prevailing road conditions and adhere to signage.”<\/p>\n
