There’s a new business at Wooroolin which is now welcoming visitors exploring the Rail Trail – and local residents – alike.<\/p>\n

“Dusty Daisy Coffee and Collectives” is located in the former Wooroolin Fire Brigade building on the corner of Alexander and Frederick streets.<\/p>\n

Owner Anita Thorley, from Kingaroy, said Dusty Daisy opened its doors for the first time on November 28, but the dream had been a year in the making.<\/p>\n

The aim was to provide a “coffee stop and shop”.<\/p>\n

As well as barista-made coffee, there’s sweet treats for sale from Endeavour’s Kingaroy Kitchen.<\/p>\n

The “shop” part explains the other taglines on the street sign: “reclaimed, boho, country, vintage”.<\/p>\n

“It’s all about recycling and repurposing,” Anita said.<\/p>\n

There’s clothing, giftware, macram\u00e9, health and wellness books and even some furniture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But if visitors are just after the coffee and treats, there’s also an outdoor area in which to relax, with casual picnic-style seating and plenty of room for pushbikes.<\/p>\n

Anita said the business was “pet friendly” so dogs were also welcome … and there’s even a plan to build a hitching rail for horses.<\/p>\n

“It was a year to get everything organised,” Anita said.<\/p>\n

The floor of the old fire shed had to be levelled, new doors fitted and fencing installed around the block.<\/p>\n

“My husband Jim has worked tirelessly for me,” Anita said.<\/p>\n

“I would really like to thank Wooroolin for welcoming us into the community. They have been amazing.”<\/p>\n

Dusty Daisy is open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am to 4:30pm.<\/p>\n
