The South Burnett Boars have continued their unbeaten run in the Goodchild Shield senior cricket competition, ensuring their next stop is the Grand Final.<\/p>\n

The home team defied the weather to defeat Fraser Coast by 30 runs at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy last Sunday.<\/p>\n

South Burnett won the toss and elected to bat, but were all out for 123 in the 31st over.<\/p>\n

The Fraser Coast bowlers tested the Boars but Nathan\u00a0Roderick (54), Jared Sippel (18) and Riley Sippel (15 not out) helped the South Burnett set a respectable target.<\/p>\n

In reply, the South Burnett bowlers returned the favour, getting Fraser Coast all out for 93 in the 38th over.<\/p>\n

Jared Sippel (3\/9 off seven overs), Nicholas Sanewski (3\/21 off seven) and Kieran Askin (2\/12 off 8.2) did the damage.<\/p>\n

The Grand Final of this prestigious Wide Bay four-team competition will be played on January 19.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The Grand Final between the South Burnett and Bundaberg will be played at Murgon Showgrounds on February 23.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gympie A Grade Cricket\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The two South Burnett teams in the Gympie A Grade competition faced off against each other in Round 9 at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wooroolin Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl against Murgon Crusaders.<\/p>\n

At the end of their 40 overs, Murgon were 8\/233.<\/p>\n

Top-scorer Tom Patton was unbeaten with 84 runs, including three sixes and 12 fours off just 48 balls.<\/p>\n

Michael Davies was the best of the Warriors’ bowlers with 3\/32 off eight overs.<\/p>\n

In reply, Wooroolin were all out for 106 in the 29th over.<\/p>\n

Lawson Black and Matthew Springate equalled top-scored with 24 runs apiece.<\/p>\n

Byron Kratzmann was the pick of the Murgon bowlers, taking 3\/6 off four overs, including two maidens.<\/p>\n

Jack Webber took 2\/10 off two, and Tom Patton 2\/19 off eight.<\/p>\n

Murgon Crusaders won by 127 runs.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Senior competition entered into T20 mode last weekend with Rounds 1 and 2 being played on Saturday morning and afternoon:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Tingoora Vikings (2\/108) def. Tingoora Huntsmen (7\/101) by seven runs at Taabinga State School<\/li>\n
  • Wondai Wolves (122 all out) def. Wooroolin Warriors (92 all out) by 30 runs at Kingaroy State School<\/li>\n
  • Nanango Scorpions (5\/146) def. Kingaroy Services (4\/146) by six wickets at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Round 3 games Wide Bay Junior Intercity Challenge were scheduled to be played at Murgon Showgrounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      In Under 12s, Bundaberg (115 all out) def. South Burnett (34 all out) by 81 runs.<\/p>\n

      Mitchell Stretton bowled well for the South Burnett, taking 4\/16 off 6.3 overs, including one maiden.<\/p>\n

      The U14s game between Bundaberg and South Burnett was drawn due to the rain.<\/p>\n
