Almost 40 delegates representing Visitor Information Centres from across Queensland are discovering the magic of the South Burnett during a four-day visit to the region.<\/p>\n

The annual Queensland Information Centre Association (QICA) conference is showcasing some of the region’s best attractions.<\/p>\n

The get-together began with an informal networking dinner on Monday night at the Kingaroy RSL Club.<\/p>\n

The official opening on Tuesday morning was held in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt, where the delegates were welcomed by Wakka Wakka Elder Uncle Eric Law AM and traditional dancers.<\/p>\n

Mayor Kathy Duff also produced a pink ribbon to cut to officially start Day 1 of the conference.<\/p>\n

The visitors then explored the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, Kingaroy Heritage Museum, Wondai Heritage Museum and Wondai Visitor Information Centre and Timber Museum, before spending the night “glamping” at Bjelke-Petersen Dam.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday morning – after a breakfast cooked by South Burnett councillors – the delegates headed off to the Roy Emerson Museum in Blackbutt and Ringsfield House in Nanango before having dinner at the Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s agenda includes a visit to Dairy and Heritage Museum in Murgon and the Murgon Services Club before a gala awards dinner at the Kingaroy Town Hall, hosted by the South Burnett Regional Council, where QICA’s 2024 Awards winners will be announced.<\/p>\n

Guest speakers were scheduled to address the delegates at many of their stopovers during the visit.<\/p>\n
