South Burnett Regional Council has organised a number of consultation sessions for Blackbutt residents to discuss the flying fox problem in town.<\/p>\n

The sessions will provide an opportunity for residents to meet representatives from Council, Queensland Health, Department of Primary Industries, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Redleaf to discuss:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The short and long-term actions identified in Council’s Draft Flying Foxes Roost Management Plan for Blackbutt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Human and animal health concerns \u2013 how to manage noise, odour and disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Understanding flying fox protection and permit requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \u201cCouncil is taking the concerns of the local residents very seriously and we are looking forward to working closely with the community to come up with a workable plan,\u201d Cr Linda Little said.<\/p>\n

        The consultations will be held in the Blackbutt Customer Service Office,\u00a0 69 Hart Street:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Tuesday, December 3 – 9:00am to noon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            • Wednesday, December 4 – 2:00pm to 7:00pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
