Regular art gatherings are starting to take off in Murgon if the popularity of an afternoon tea at Murgon’s 55 Million Years Ago museum and gallery on Saturday is any indication.<\/p>\n

This is the third time the Creative Country Association – the not-for-profit group which runs the museum – has hosted an art exhibition and afternoon tea in the complex.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, there were 87 paintings gracing the walls.<\/p>\n

Creative Country Association Board member Lainie McInerney said the exhibitions were usually changed every two months.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An official opening is held on a Friday night followed by a friendly, elegant afternoon tea scheduled on a Saturday afternoon during the display to encourage people to come along and view the works.<\/p>\n

Art isn’t the only thing happening at 55 Million Years Ago … association secretary Leo Geraghty said some exciting changes would be happening soon at the museum, including the creation of a sandpit where children could dig for “fossils” and a new 3D display.<\/p>\n
