Heavy rain – and a blackout which affected more than 6000 Ergon Energy customers in the Nanango area – could not stop ghouls, ghosties, witches and warlocks from coming out on Halloween.<\/p>\n

The annual event, organised by Cr Jane Erkens and a bunch of volunteers from The Shed and NaTDA, attracted a smaller crowd than usual last Thursday night to Little Drayton Street, Nanango, but there was still plenty of haunting music and creepy costumes.<\/p>\n

Cr Erkens praised the kids for still dressing up despite the obvious difficulties.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“How brave of you to come out after that big storm and no power at home!” she said.<\/p>\n

Trophies were awarded in “scariest dance” competitions (they did the Monster Mash!) and there were also bags of lollies for all the children who attended.<\/p>\n

The free family event was sponsored by Heritage Community Bank and Nanango Real Estate.<\/p>\n
