The trailer gouged a hole in the roadway as it came to rest on its side in Harris Road<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

No one was injured when a low-loader carrying an excavator tipped on its side in Harris Road, Kingaroy, on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

A tip truck was pulling the trailer carrying an excavator when the load apparently shifted as the vehicle was negotiating a dogleg section of the road.<\/p>\n

The hitch between the units failed, tipping the trailer on to its side, close to an embankment and gouging deep holes in the bitumen roadway.<\/p>\n

A local resident who heard the crash said he saw a large cloud of dust rise from the road.<\/p>\n

He rushed out and began slowing down traffic.<\/p>\n

An Ergon Energy crew was called as the incident occurred near an electricity pole and overhead powerlines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The roadway was blocked – and power disconnected – while two crane crews worked to right the trailer and remove the excavator.<\/p>\n

Power was restored about 4:30pm.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council workers then began repairing the damage to the roadway.<\/p>\n
