Deb Frecklington says it is an “absolute honour” to be returned as the Member for Nanango at Saturday’s State Election.<\/p>\n

“I would especially like to thank the people of the Nanango Electorate for putting their faith in me to continue to represent them in the Queensland Parliament,” Mrs Frecklington said on Monday.<\/p>\n

“My priority will be the key issues affecting our region, including the poor state of our road network, youth crime, access to health services and housing shortages.<\/p>\n

“This is what I\u2019ll be working to achieve for our Nanango Electorate communities \u2013 right across the South Burnett, Somerset, northern Toowoomba, Cherbourg and western Gympie areas.<\/p>\n

“As a passionate advocate for regional Queensland, I am committed to ensuring our region has access to the same quality of services as our city cousins.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I also believe that areas like ours are the growth centre of Queensland and it is my priority to ensure our region gets its fair share.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ll be working hard each and every day because I love this area, and the people who call our beautiful part of the world home.<\/p>\n

“A big thanks must also go to the many volunteers who supported me during the election campaign and on voting day. I can\u2019t thank them enough for their time and dedication.”<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff congratulated Mrs Frecklington on her election success:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Congratulations to our local member Deb Frecklington MP and to our new Premier David Crisafulli on your election success. I look forward to working closely with you and your new team to get some great outcomes for our region.”<\/p>\n

Toowoomba Mayor Geoff McDonald congratulated Premier David Crisafulli and the TRC’s five re-elected local MPs – Deb Frecklington, David Janetzki, Trevor Watts, Pat Weir and James Lister – following the results of Saturday\u2019s State Election.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI have reached out to Premier Crisafulli to congratulate him on his election victory and have invited him to visit the Toowoomba region in the near future,” Mayor McDonald said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a former Deputy Mayor and Minister for Local Government, Premier Crisafulli has a sound political background and understanding of local government and is well placed to deliver positive outcomes for regional Queensland, and particularly the Toowoomba region.”<\/p>\n

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien also congratulated Mrs Frecklington and Member for Gympie Tony Perrett on their victories.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Queensland had their say at the polls on Saturday, ushering in a new era and a new government focused on a fresh start and bringing accountability and transparency back to state politics,” Mr O’Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueensland has shown the Labor Government the door, with voters making the choice to put their faith in David Crisafulli and the LNP team to get Queensland back on track,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a decade of the Labor Government, Queenslanders have been left a legacy of high crime rates, budget blowouts, slipping education standards, congested and unsafe roads, hospitals unable to cope with our growing population, and services being stripped from regional areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid Crisafulli and the LNP team have a hard job ahead of them, but they have a clear plan to invest in our future and get Queensland moving in the right direction.”<\/p>\n
