October 7, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club’s recent weekend rally attracted a huge range of historic and quirky vehicles to the club’s grounds near Kingaroy Airport.<\/p>\n

There was everything from a fully restored Kingaroy fire engine – making its first official public appearance – to a one-off one-cylinder working stationary engine hand-built by Gold Coast enthusiast Eric Owen.<\/p>\n

The statistics show the range of items for enthusiasts to peruse: by Saturday afternoon there were 113 tractors, 18 cars and 34 trucks in the grounds (and possibly even a few more!).<\/strong><\/p>\n

There were grand parades for the crowds to enjoy as well as slow tractor races, tractor pulling displays, working stationary engines as well as demonstrations of farm machinery, including corn threshing.<\/p>\n

Many of the owners of the machinery on show camped at the grounds, which led to volunteers from Kingaroy State School catering for 250 people on Saturday night!<\/p>\n
