Nine years ago the Kingaroy Rotary Club announced it was planning to donate life-saving defibrillator units to organisations in the local community.<\/p>\n

Over the years it has supported more than 16 groups to have a defibrillator available at their premises to use if someone has a sudden heart attack.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s now known that two lives have been saved due to the availability of these defibrillators across the organisations so the original intention for this project has been well and truly justified,” club president Mark Huston said.<\/p>\n

“However, the time has now come for a revisit these individual defibrillator units, to check on their continued serviceability.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Like all battery-powered items of equipment, the batteries have a shelf life and in this case it\u2019s five years.<\/p>\n

“Likewise, the body contact pads have a shelf-life of two years.<\/p>\n

“We want to ask that all recipients and owners of these defibrillator units to please check that their unit is still fully capable of giving emergency service.”<\/p>\n

“Kingaroy Rotary Club can assist with supplying new batteries and the contact pads and we can supply these items at cost.”<\/p>\n
