Gardeners obviously don’t mind a bit of rain … they turned up when it was more than a bit damp at Wondai’s Autumn Garden Expo earlier this year, and then came back in force at the weekend for the Spring extravaganza.<\/p>\n

Despite the rain bucketing down on Saturday afternoon, it was difficult to find a car parking spot along the Bunya Highway.<\/p>\n

And Spring Garden Expo organisers reported that four busloads of visitors had already come through the gates.<\/p>\n

Admittedly, the Lions Pavilion was busier than usual – especially where Felicity Aitken was creating wearable art out of colourful blooms – and the covered tables near the pavilion entrance were also popular.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, there were still hardy souls wandering around the stalls.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the rain began to clear later in the afternoon, and Sunday dawned as a perfect Spring day.<\/p>\n

The Wondai Garden Expo Committee organises two big two-day events every year at the Wondai Sportsgrounds: the Autumn and the Spring Garden Expos.<\/p>\n

They have already began planning for next year’s Spring event which will be held on April 19-20.<\/p>\n
