RUOK Day has been marked throughout the South Burnett to raise community awareness about holding “meaningful conversations” with friends and family members.<\/p>\n

There was a series of events last weeks, including the annual march and community barbecue in Cherbourg as well as breakfasts or morning teas held in Proston, Murgon, Nanango and Blackbutt.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group, in partnership with Open Minds, hosted a breakfast for more than 50 people on Friday morning at the Red Ants clubhouse in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

A special guest speaker was Dr Tim Driscoll, the “accidental psychologist” from the Royal Flying Doctor Service.<\/p>\n

RUOK Community Ambassador Jo Hassan also gave talks at the Kingaroy and Nanango libraries.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the weather forced the cancellation of a planned free RUOK Dessert Night which was to be hosted by Centacare in Kingaroy on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
