Campervans and caravans packed into the Nanango Showgrounds at the weekend in what the organisers of the annual Heritage Nanango Country Muster described as a “not too bad” roll-up.<\/p>\n

By early Saturday afternoon, there were 560 campers in attendance, down slightly on last year’s figures but still a lot more than the COVID years.<\/p>\n

Visitors began setting up camp in the showgrounds early in the week, although the first event on the program wasn’t until Wednesday night when an old-time dance was organised.<\/p>\n

This was followed on Thursday night by a concert from\u00a0 Australian rockabilly legend, Lonnie Lee.<\/p>\n

The official opening, on Friday morning, was conducted by South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff alongside local MP Deb Frecklington, Cr Jane Erkens, Nanango Show Society president Les Schloss and representatives from the major sponsors, Heritage Bank Nanango.<\/p>\n

Guest artists over the weekend included Dean Perrett, Katie Hindle, Steve Sparrow and Lance Birrell.<\/p>\n

The Muster wrapped up on Sunday with a Bush Poets Brekkie, hosted by Gary Fogarty, followed by Gospel music.<\/p>\n

Footnote: The record for camping attendance at the Muster is 827, notched up before the pandemic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
