A desperate kick in a bid late in the game to break the deadlock against Goondiwindi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

August 6, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Saints’ men played a 41-all draw against Goondiwindi in their last home game of the season last Saturday.<\/p>\n

Despite some desperate play in the last quarter, the scores remained locked 6.5-41 to 5.11-41 when the full-time siren sounded.<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by Hunter Brown (2), Jack Mines (2) and Joshua Adamson (2).<\/p>\n

In the earlier women’s game, Saints scored a decisive win over the Hawks, 9.11-65 to 2.2-14.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saints’ goal kickers were Alexandria Alifrangis (2), Kayla Smith (2), Kayley Collins, Kiara Wright, Melissa Haigh, Natalie Fenton and Tameka Swifte.<\/p>\n

The last round of the regular season will be played this weekend.<\/p>\n

The men’s and women’s teams will be in action in Toowoomba against the University Cougars.<\/p>\n

UPDATE August 12: Cougars defeated Saints men 10.8-68 to 5.6-36; and Saints women 9-6-60 to 3.2-20.<\/strong><\/p>\n
