The occupants of a Nanango house were lucky to escape injury when a 4WD ploughed through the front rooms of the wooden home on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident, on the corner of Appin Street West and Chester Street, about 9:30am.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Toyota HiLux dualcab ute apparently lost control while driving up Appin Street West.<\/p>\n

The 4WD then crossed a grassed area, culvert and footpath before smashing through the side gate of the property.<\/p>\n

It then crashed through the side of the building, pushing out the wall on the other side, just centimetres away from a vehicle parked outside.<\/p>\n

Luckily, the owner was in the rear of the structure when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n

He and his two dogs escaped injury; his wife and sons were not at home at the time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The building, which is believed to be more than 100 years old, had only recently been renovated.<\/p>\n

An heirloom clock, which was in a front room, was smashed by the runaway vehicle.<\/p>\n

A QAS spokesperson said the the occupants of the 4WD – a man and a woman with two small children – were taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said the cause of the crash was still being investigated and it was too early to say whether the driver had suffered a medical episode or if mechanical failure was to blame.<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page<\/a> has been set up to assist the family.<\/strong><\/p>\n
