South Burnett primary producers have been invited to attend special information days<\/strong> focussing on the latest research about local pests and weeds to held next month in Kingaroy and Durong.<\/p>\n

The sessions are being hosted by AgForce Queensland and Conservation Farmers Inc and presenters will be from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry\u2019s Biosecurity Queensland unit and Animal Control Technologies Australia.<\/p>\n

The information sessions will aim to combine the latest scientific research with relevant landholder management options.<\/p>\n

Topics will include rabbits, wild dogs, feral pigs, parthenium, African lovegrass, lantana and giant rat’s tail grass.<\/p>\n

AgForce South East Regional Manager Sarah Due, said invasive plants and pest animals had significant economic, environmental and social impacts.<\/p>\n

“We welcome funding from the Australian Government\u2019s Caring for our Country initiative (through the Regional Landcare Facilitator Program) and the Burnett Catchment Care Association, to run such an extensive and informative educational program on a very broad range of pests and weeds,” she said.<\/p>\n
