Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy are into the quarter-finals in Paris<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar have defeated a fancied Brazilian duo to earn a spot in the quarter-finals of the beach volleyball competition at the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n

The Aussies defeated Carolina Solberg Salgado and B\u00e1rbara Seixas de Freitas 2-0 (24-22, 21-14) in the hard-fought “Round of 16” game on the Eiffel Tower court on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Seixas de Freitas was a silver medal winner at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.<\/p>\n

Taliqua and Mariafe will now take on Zo\u00e9 Verg\u00e9-D\u00e9pr\u00e9\u00a0 and Esm\u00e9e B\u00f6bner, from Switzerland, in the quarter-final on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Swiss duo defeated a Spanish team on Monday to make it into the quarter-finals, and were undefeated in their Pool matches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
