Fundraising by the Proston Local Ambulance Committee could help save some of the youngest lives in the Proston community.<\/p>\n

Following successful Mums and Bubs groups held in the town, the LAC began fundraising to buy four “Little Annies”, practise mannequins used for teaching CPR on babies and young children.<\/p>\n

The mannequins were the focus of a health education session\u00a0 held at Proston Library on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The session was organised by the library,\u00a0 the Proston Local Ambulance Committee, Proston QAS and Proston Community Health.<\/p>\n

Parents and grandparents attended the session, as well as Proston LAC members and Proston QAS officers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LAC plans to offer training sessions with smaller numbers, using the new equipment to show the correct rate and depth of compressions.<\/p>\n

The first trainees were enrolled on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The LAC intends to offer the sessions to community members and groups to increase the capacity of the community to respond to emergencies.<\/p>\n

The next Proston LAC will be held on August 28.<\/p>\n
