May 31, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kumbia Race Club will be holding its new Mid-Year Race Meeting at the Kumbia racecourse off the Kumbia-Brooklands Road on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The extra meeting date was granted to the club by Queensland Premier Campbell Newman when he attended the club’s Melbourne Cup Day Race Meeting last November.<\/p>\n

As usual, the trackside will be dotted with tents and picnicers enjoying the relaxed country racing atmosphere, and the meeting will have a licensed bar, BBQ, and the Luncheon Hall in operation, along with full Sky-TV race meeting coverage and a vigorous betting ring.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a Winter Fashions Of The Field competition for ladies and youth categories, along with free children’s face painting, a jumping castle and other entertainment.<\/p>\n

Gates will open around 11:00am and the first race of this five-race meeting will leave the barriers at 1:05pm.<\/p>\n

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for concessions.<\/p>\n

A bus will be running to the track from Kingaroy’s Carrollee Hotel. You can book a seat by phoning the hotel on (07) 4162-1055.<\/p>\n
