Owner Jimmy Stephen has announced that his award-winning Accents Restaurant in Kingaroy will be closing its doors on July 27.<\/p>\n

“The catering side of our business is booming so we’ve decided to close the doors,” he announced on his blog.<\/p>\n

“We will still offer group bookings at the restaurant until our lease expires in November, so if you want to have a birthday party, large function, Christmas party in November – whatever the occasion, we are happy to accommodate you.<\/p>\n

“We have also decided not to open another smaller venue in Kingaroy.”<\/p>\n

Apart from catering many events – including the weekend’s Mayoral Ball in Kingaroy – Jimmy said he was also working on a couple of side projects.<\/p>\n

“We feel sad that we are closing to everyday trade and want to thank all our customers who have supported us over the past 2.5 years,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve made many, many friends since opening here and hope to continue to do so.<\/p>\n

“We are currently putting together catering packages including other businesses who specialise in decorating as well as fantastic local venues where you can hold your next event.<\/p>\n

“We also have lots of other things planned which we’ll share later on, once all the details are finalised.”<\/p>\n

Jimmy said he wanted to go out “with a bang”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“(We will) provide a sumptuous fine dining degustation menu on our last Friday and Saturday nights in July,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Bookings will be limited for both nights, so if you want to come along, the earlier you book, the better.”<\/p>\n

In September 2011 – just nine months after opening – Accents Restaurant won the “Caf\u00e9 Restaurant” category for south-east Queensland at the 2011 Savour Australia Awards for Excellence.<\/p>\n

It was competing against top Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Darling Downs and Gold Coast restaurants.<\/p>\n

Jimmy had previously won the “Best European Restaurant” gong for the Savini Restaurant and Wine Bar at Kangaroo Point.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
