Winter seems to be the time for crafts in the South Burnett’s art world … and Wondai Regional Art Gallery has joined in the fun this month.<\/p>\n

On Friday night, Mayor Kathy Duff – with help from Proston P-10 school students – officially opened the gallery’s June exhibition.<\/p>\n

The Alpaca Collective has taken over the front and rear galleries with textile works by Julia and Kirsten Jeffery, and Jo and Sam Bowler.<\/p>\n

Most are made with wool spun from Alpaca fleece.<\/p>\n

Sam’s pieces include a stunning range of tartans.<\/p>\n

In the main gallery, well-known local paper tole artist Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick has “Tole’d In Paper & Mixed Media”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rosemarie – and some of her students – have added their own flair to paper tole works.<\/p>\n

A strong contingent of teachers, students and parents turned up to inspect the works from Proston P-10 on display in Kidz Korner.<\/p>\n

The exhibitions will remain on display until 3:00pm on Friday, July 5.<\/p>\n

Entry to the gallery is free.<\/p>\n
