June 10, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

A two-storey home at South Nanango partially collapsed while firefighters were battling the blaze on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Fire crews were called to the property, on Izzards Road, just before 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said seven urban trucks as well as rural brigades attended the incident.<\/p>\n

Firefighters could see black smoke pouring from the building as they approached, and found the structure well ablaze when they arrived.<\/p>\n

At one point, flames were coming from the roof.<\/p>\n

The firefighters determined there were no occupants inside, but sadly, two dogs were missing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just before 6:30pm, part of the building collapsed while firefighters were still working to extinguish the last of the flames.<\/p>\n

Fire crews remained at the property until 2:55am, dampening down and working to make the area safe.<\/p>\n

Firefighters returned at 5:00am on Sunday to check for hot spots but found the area clear.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said the cause of the fire had been deemed accidental.<\/p>\n

It is believed to have been started by a heater.<\/p>\n
