More than 150 veterinary practices across Queensland have signed up for the RSPCA\u2019s annual desexing campaign, Operation Wanted, which began this week.<\/p>\n

In the South Burnett, two practices have signed up so far: Barambah Veterinary Surgery at 217 Haly Street, Kingaroy; and Kingaroy Veterinary Surgery at 30 Avoca Street (cnr Youngman Street).<\/p>\n

The participating vets began offering 20 per cent off dog and cat desexing on June 1.<\/p>\n

Eight councils, including the South Burnett and Toowoomba councils, are supporting the three-month animal desexing campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

RSPCA Queensland spokesperson Emma Lagoon said it was incredible to think Operation Wanted had been running for 10 years, offering pet owners discounted desexing.<\/p>\n

Since 2014, it is estimated about 200,000 animals have been desexed across Queensland during Operation Wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery animal deserves to be loved and have a home to call their own,\u201d Ms Lagoon said.<\/p>\n

“Desexing helps prevent unwanted animals turning up at pounds, shelters and rescue groups.”<\/p>\n
