South Burnett CTC’s new Neighbourhood Centre in Nanango aims to offer residents a wide range of community services and support programs.<\/p>\n

The centre, which was officially opened on Monday with a community barbecue, is a partnership between CTC and Heritage Nanango Community Funding (HNCF).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Neighbourhood Centre is located in the former Immanuel Lutheran Church building – which began life as the Nanango station master\u2019s residence – at 41 Drayton Street.<\/p>\n

The historic building, built in 1911, was bought by HNCF for community use and has been leased to CTC.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe launch of the Nanango Neighbourhood Centre underscores our commitment to ensuring all members of our community have access to vital community services and support,” CTC CEO Jason Erbacher said.<\/p>\n

“We are excited to unveil this initiative following necessary refurbishments to the building.”<\/p>\n

The centre is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm on weekdays.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visitors will be able to access a wide range of services offered by CTC, including homelessness and youth support, emergency relief and family assistance.<\/p>\n

HNCF chair Jane Hodgkinson said the project was a major achievement for HNCF.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe love that the historic old station master’s building will continue to be an asset for the community, after being lovingly cared for by the local Lutheran congregation for so many years,” Jane said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project honours the initial supporters who invested in launching the Heritage Nanango Community Branch, as well as those who continue to support our district by banking with the local Heritage branch.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to collaborate again with CTC to realise this vision, which we are confident will have a positive impact on future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Mental Health Golf Challenge also helped the Neighbourhood Centre get off the ground, with a $10,000 donation towards the fitout.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The money was part of $70,000 raised for local projects at a series of golfing events held throughout the South Burnett in 2023, organised by then-South Burnett councillors Scott Henschen and Gavin Jones.<\/p>\n

The fundraising was auspiced by the Red Earth Community Foundation.<\/p>\n
