A hearing began in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Monday into animal cruelty charges laid after animal rights activists flew a drone over Swickers’ pig abattoir in Kingaroy\u00a0 in 2022.<\/p>\n

The drone allegedly captured images of workers at the plant.<\/p>\n

Robert John Parker and Cody James Swann face two counts each of animal cruelty.<\/p>\n

The hearing has been set down for four days, and is scheduled to continue on Friday.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The matter has been listed for hearing in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 21-23.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

UPDATE: On November 1, 2024, no evidence was offered and the charges were dismissed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
