Kewpie Stockfeeds’ Rural Industry Field Day had a lot to compete with on Thursday, but a good crowd of rural producers still rolled in to check out the latest information from one of the South Burnett’s major home-grown businesses.<\/p>\n

The competition came from a large cattle sale at the Coolabunia yards but the lure of the first Kewpie field day since 2015 still tempted many to drop by.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visitors could wander around the many stalls, check out the trucks on display, listen to specialist talks or explore special field day offers.<\/p>\n

The family-owned business has a long and proud history in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Owners Paul and Delvene Woltmann, who took over about 2\u00bd years ago, can trace their links back to the start.<\/p>\n

Paul’s father Cedric and his uncle Gayford began the business at Wooroolin almost 56 years ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The brothers owned a piggery and the Wooroolin butcher shop.<\/p>\n

The Kewpie group of companies gradually expanded, vertically integrating the original piggery business to include Kewpie Rural, which provides livestock feed and merchandise, and Kewpie Steel, which sells steel and offers fabrication services.<\/p>\n
