South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff has been elected chair of the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Roads and Transport Group.<\/p>\n

The group is made up of representatives from the North Burnett, South Burnett, Cherbourg, Gympie, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast councils.<\/p>\n

Representatives met in Maryborough on Thursday for the first time since the Local Government elections in March.<\/p>\n

Fraser Coast councillor Denis Chapman was elected deputy chair.<\/p>\n

Mayor Duff thanked the group for their endorsement and said she was honoured to receive the support of her fellow mayors and councillors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regional Roads and Transport Groups consist of councillors and a Department of Transport and Main Roads District\/Regional Director.<\/p>\n

Each group is also supported by a technical committee.<\/p>\n

They work collaborative to regionally plan and prioritise investment on road and transport infrastructure, including allocating funding to the highest priority projects and identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
