Sisters Kay Gorring and Robyn Dower have taken over the walls of the Wondai Regional Art Gallery this month with an eclectic collection of whimsical creations<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wondai Regional Art Gallery has set visitors a challenge this month … can you find all the items from “Aunt Mabel’s Antiques, Curios and Collectables”?<\/p>\n

The idea is that a delivery truck has dropped off (literally) boxes of goods which are now spread around the floors and walls.<\/p>\n

The whimsical exhibition, actually entitled “Subject To Change”, is an eclectic collection of pieces by sisters Robyn Dower and Kay Gorring spread across the gallery’s display areas.<\/p>\n

There’s everything from a life-size horse (hard to miss in the main gallery) to tiny mice plus cats and dogs.<\/p>\n

There’s sculptures, paintings, plaques and even tic-tac-toe…<\/p>\n

Visitors can get a copy of an “Inventory List” to check off all the items as they scour the gallery from top to bottom to find the hidden delights.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the back gallery, Kay Gorring has taken over the walls for her first solo exhibition, combining paper collage with poetry.<\/p>\n

The exhibition was officially opened last Friday night by Wondai Gallery returnee Gil Smith who trekked from the Sunshine Coast with his wife Michelle especially for the night.<\/p>\n

Gil was always a regular compere at the gallery’s opening nights before retiring to the Coast, and Michelle was the gallery’s treasurer for many years.<\/p>\n

A large crowd gathered on opening night, entertained by wandering saxophonist Jordan Holden, enjoying Nuova Scuola wines and supper prepared by the gallery’s volunteers.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will remain on show at the Wondai Art Gallery until 3:00pm on Saturday, June 1. Entry is free and the gallery is open from 10:00am to 3:00pm, daily.<\/p>\n
