Piles of burning rubbish sent a large plume of smoke into the air near Cherbourg late on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said four fire crews – from Cherbourg and Murgon – were called to the blaze on Wondai Road about 4:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fire, believed to be at the Council tip, included green waste as well as metal and other rubbish.<\/p>\n

Heavy machinery was brought in to pull apart the burning piles.<\/p>\n

Firefighters had the flames extinguished by 6:00pm but remained on scene to dampen down until about 8:00pm.<\/p>\n

They returned to the site on Monday morning to check that the area remained safe.<\/p>\n

Two people with ankle injuries were airlifted from the Manar Park off-road recreational park at Boondooma on Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pair were flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called at 10:48am.<\/p>\n

One person was taken by ambulance to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition after a single-vehicle crash near Kilkivan on Friday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the corner of Rossmore and Bymount roads just before 9:30am.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A 58-year-old woman reported missing in the Murgon area has been located.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A police spokesperson told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the woman was found safe and well on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The woman had last been seen on Silverleaf Road, Silverleaf, about 8:45 on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
