Hivesville Progress Association will receive $3500 to buy a laptop and printer under the latest round of the Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants scheme.<\/p>\n

The group is one of 22 across the electorate of Flynn which will receive assistance in this round.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Member for Flynn Colin Boyce announced the successful applicants on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He said more than $66,000 in funding was being distributed to groups in Flynn.<\/p>\n

The scheme provide organisations with grants of between $1000 to $5000 to purchase minor equipment, provide training, cover fuel costs, promote awareness of volunteering opportunities or adjust policies and procedures to strengthen members’ safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBy dedicating their time and effort to helping others, our volunteers are the backbone of society,” Mr Boyce said.<\/p>\n

“These are Australians who are resilient, selfless, and work hard to make our community a better place to live.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVolunteering also provides an effective pathway to get people into jobs, helps to break down the barriers of marginalisation and fosters community participation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said 23 community groups from across his electorate will also share in more than $66,000 worth of Volunteer Grants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the South Burnett,\u00a0Kingaroy Bowls Club will receive $1800 and Nanango & District Netball Association $2500.<\/p>\n
