April 24, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Race Club will be holding its traditional Anzac Day Races at the Wondai Racecourse on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The meeting is the 51st Anzac Day meeting held at the course, and proceeds will go to aid Legacy.<\/p>\n

The Anzac Day meeting is always one of the biggest meetings the club holds every year.<\/p>\n

This year promises to be no exception, with all marquee seating already booked out.<\/p>\n

As usual, the meeting will feature an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The traditional Fashions On The Field competition will have a “Poppies and Pearls” theme, and guests who dress to it can be in the running for some great prizes.<\/p>\n

Gates will open at the track at 11:30am; the bar will open at 1:00pm; and Race 1 will leave the barriers at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

This year’s Anzac Day race meeting will feature five races and is being sponsored by Ken Mills Machinery, Wards Electrical, C&M Machining, Peries IGA Wondai, Harley’s Heavy Diesel, Ryan’s Butchery, GH Clothing Co, the Wondai Diggers Club, the Andresen family and Deb Frecklington MP.<\/p>\n

Admission is $10 and patrons should bring cash because there’s no ATM or EFTPOS available at the track.<\/p>\n
