Waymark Hotels CEO Clayton Burns and South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff cut the ribbon in The Nest at the Commercial Hotel on Thursday night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Invited guests had the opportunity on Thursday night to take a sneak peek at the renovated corporate area at Kingaroy’s Commercial Hotel.<\/p>\n

The hotel, better known by its ComPub nickname, has recently undergone a multi-million dollar overhaul.<\/p>\n

“The Nest” is the Commercial’s event space, which was formerly a dark, enclosed area.<\/p>\n

The upgrade has brightened the large room, with windows which can open on to Haly Street, large video screens, new tables and chairs and a fresh decor.<\/p>\n

Recently elected South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff joined with Waymark Hotels CEO Clayton Burns to officially cut the ribbon to open the area.<\/p>\n

The revamp of The Nest is only part of the changes that owners Waymark Hotels have introduced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The external walls of the building have been repainted and new signage installed.<\/p>\n

The poker machine area, aka the Gaming Lounge, has been transformed with new machines, chairs and carpets.<\/p>\n

New big-screen TVs have also been installed in the front Sports Bar, and the beer garden has also been refreshed.<\/p>\n

Waymark bought the Commercial in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, which delayed renovation plans.<\/p>\n

The changes are still ongoing, with work continuing on the upper storey to update the accommodation options.<\/p>\n

The official opening for the public will be held tonight (Friday, April 19) with live music by the Matty Clarke Band from 8:00pm.<\/p>\n
