A South Burnett Junior Landcare group began meeting in Kingaroy early this year under the guidance of local facilitator Suzanne Mungall.<\/p>\n

The free sessions are held in the Kingaroy Library on the fourth Saturday of every month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Suzanne said the informal group\u00a0aims to provide a space for children aged 6-14 who care about the environment to make friends.<\/p>\n

“Each session focuses on different topics,” Suzanne said.<\/p>\n

The children are also given a list of suggested activities to carry out during the month break.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“February focused on ‘Clean up Australia Day’, ‘Earth Hour’ and ‘Wetlands Day’,” Suzanne said.<\/p>\n

“The March session focused on ‘Invasive Fish’ and ‘World Frog Day’.<\/p>\n

“Games included things such as imitating frog noises, fishing up invasive species, learning how to make a frog ‘hotel’ and creating frogs from leaves and twigs.<\/p>\n

“All children and families are welcome.”<\/p>\n
