Six South Burnett sporting clubs will share in more than $1.8 million after successful applications in the State Government’s Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund grant.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington congratulated the clubs on their success and the benefits their major projects will bring to the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach of the clubs are receiving significant grants to help them build or upgrade their facilities,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Kingaroy Tennis Club will be constructing a brand new amenities block to replace their old toilet block. The upgrade will create opportunities for the club by providing a new space which is accessible, safe, clean and functional.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the Kingaroy Golf Club, the grant will help replace the old irrigation system to help the club provide a better and more reliable playing experience, encourage new members to attend, and current members and guests to return more often.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Nanango Netball Club will be upgrading their two grass courts to a hard surface. This will help the club further grow their membership, allow more competitions and carnivals to be played at Nanango and provide a high-quality netball facility for the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to recognise the clubs on their success and their commitment to improving sports participation in our region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe South Burnett Regional Council was also successful in receiving funding to construct new amenities blocks to support active recreation in Nanango and Murgon.”<\/p>\n
